Volvo to launch“Schwedenversicherung” insurance solution in April 2016

  • New service offered in the car insurance segment
  • Joint venture with AVS Automotive VersicherungsService GmbH
  • Allianz Versicherungs-AG is the cooperation partner Cologne.

The joint venture is based at the Volvo site in Cologne’s Deutz district. It will offer extensive services for its customers in the future through close cooperation with Allianz Versicherungs-AG. The contact persons and advisors on site for customers are the Volvo sales partners, who will be supported in the process by an exclusive field service team. The managing directors of VCIS Germany GmbH are Susan Sahl Poynor, Managing Director of Automotive VersicherungsService GmbH, and Thomas Mengelkoch, Director of Finance for Volvo Car Germany GmbH.

The launch of the new Schwedenversicherung solution takes the range of car insurance services offered by the German importer of the Swedish premium automotive brand to a new level . This also represents the third project launched within just a few months with the aim of making it easier for customers to use a Volvo vehicle — and on extremely competitive overall conditions, too. The insurance services offered include Volvo car insurance in cooperation with Allianz Versicherungs-AG. In the commercial segment, car insurance is also offered as part of the “Schwedenleasing — Full Service Mobility” solution. Taken together, all of the various services help to further enhance customer loyalty and satisfaction, which have traditionally always been at a very high level at Volvo. At the same time, instituting claims processing practices that give preference to authorized service centers also yields lasting benefits for Volvo contractual partners.

“We believe that owning and using a Volvo should be an especially positive experience for customers in every respect. In case of an accident, that also includes the professional repairs that are necessary afterward,” says Thomas Bauch, Managing Director of Volvo Car Germany. He continues: “The manufacturer has the standardized repair methods for this, combined with highly trained technicians and expert use of specialized tools on the market. Offering our own insurance helps us makes certain that a Volvo that has been involved in an accident remains fully operational and functional even after the repair process. Safety is always the top priority at Volvo, and it goes without saying that this also includes services provided by service centers.”

Following “Schwedenflotte — Mobilität von Volvo” (Sweden Fleet — Mobility from Volvo), which has been on the market since last summer, offering individual mobility options for car rentals and car sharing, and the launch of “Schwedenleasing — Full Service Mobility,” which has brought full-service leasing specifically to commercial customers since the start of this year, the new insurance option is the third building block Volvo is using to win over new customers and offer everyone who buys a Volvo-brand car an attractive service environment for using their vehicle. Running through all three elements is a focus on customers’ individual wishes and needs. Volvo Car Germany meets their requirements in tandem with specialized companies.

Bauch comments: “Individuality and premium-level services are what customers expect from Volvo. We fulfill these wishes with innovative, unique vehicles, and now also with our broad range of services. This means we are able to offer everything from a single source. To guarantee what we offer in all areas and secure this high level in the long term, we select the right partners and establish the cooperative relationship as part of a joint venture. We now have two companies — AVS Automotive VersicherungsService GmbH and Allianz Versicherungs-AG — by our side that have been highly regarded, reliable industry leaders for many years.”

“The success of insurance programs starts with consistent implementation at car dealerships. With an exclusive team of field reps on site, we offer Volvo and the dealership organization holistic product and sales concepts for brokering car insurance policies. Another success factor is the fact that this is integrated into the world of the Volvo brand through the decision to start a joint venture,” says Susan Sahl Poynor, Managing Director of Automotive VersicherungsService GmbH.

“We will be working closely with Volvo to evaluate the safety potential of Volvo driver assistance systems with regard to accidents. Our shared goal is to provide optimized mobility products for the customer. That’s why I am delighted that we are now teaming up on the sales side to of fer insurance solutions,” says Dr. Alexander Vollert, Chairman of the Management Board of Allianz Global Automotive.
